Advantages of OPTIHAND "Evolution":
The aim of good training in equestrian sport is - in addition to a correct seat - sensitive control of the reins. Many riders would like to improve their hand control, but habitual mistakes are often very persistent and difficult to correct.
With OPTIHAND "Evolution" the calm, even control of the reins and the raised fists are predeterminated. This allows the rider to feel the correct movement pattern and observe the - usually positive - effect on the horse. The correct way to accept and give in the reins is made clear by the rotatable handles of the tool.
Application of OPTIHAND "Evolution":
OPTIHAND "Evolution" is used most effectively to detect problematic movement patterns during riding lessons. Used this way, it creates a variety of “aha experiences” that are much more difficult to achieve with purely verbal instructions. However, it is not intended for long-term use, as riding is a very dynamic sport and permanently restricting hand mobility makes little sense. However, it has proven to be very helpful if the rider imagines that he still has the tool in his hands after temporarily using OPTIHAND. Experience has shown that after a while the riding student will unconsciously fall back into the old mistakes. Then the instructor should recall the feeling gained with the riding aid. In most cases, rapid progress can be achieved in this way.
Of course, the for rider and horse changed situation takes some getting used to at first. But after a few minutes it usually becomes apparent that the horses work more willingly with the calmer and more even hand. This convinces most riding students of the usefulness of the riding aid, even if they were initially very skeptical. The basic requirement is a well-balanced seat that is independent of the reins.
Of course, advanced riders do not need the included straps to hold onto, but they are quite useful so that the tool doesn't fall down, e.g. B. when tightening the girth.
Hand correction for advanced riders:
- initially serves to make you aware of incorrect hand positioning and rein action
- then provides positive impulses when feeling the correct movement pattern
- helps with learning a "fine", sensitive rider's hand
- Rotatable handles demonstrate the correct way to turn the reins in and out when shortening/lengthening the reins
- OPTIHAND "Evolution" combines the learning effects of conventional correction aids in one product (such as a rein bridge, sticks in the hands, whip under the thumb, etc.).
Seating training on the lunge:
- serves to hold and stabilize the riding novice until he can sit freely and balanced
- upright fists, correct hand position and angled elbows are trained at the same time
- prevents hidden fists and hunched backs, which are often the result of the “traditional” holding on to the saddle strap
- the straps supplied can be set to a correspondingly short length for beginners
- HOWEVER: For the first sitting exercises on the lunge, we recommend OPTIHAND "Basic", as it gives the rider an even more stable hold than OPTIHAND "Evolution".
Note on size selection:
The 15 cm wide version of OPTIHAND Evolution corresponds to the hand position as in classic riding theory (one hand's width apart). However, people often ride with a slightly wider hand and if you feel more comfortable with that, you should order a width of 20 cm. For children, 15 cm is usually more suitable because they have a narrower body overall.
Main differences between OPTIHAND “Basic” and OPTIHAND “Evolution”:
- OPTIHAND “Basic” is attached to the saddle using TWO length-adjustable straps with hooks. This means that the tool offers beginner riders great stability when holding on, both vertically and horizontally.
- OPTIHAND "Basic" does not have any turning handles, as these are not necessary at the very beginning of the training.
- OPTIHAND "Basic" is not suitable for advanced riders, as more flexibility of the rider's hand is required at this level of training. OPTIHAND “Evolution” should be used here to give the rider the right feeling of hand action.
- OPTIHAND “Evolution” consists of a U-shaped stainless steel construction with softly padded, rotatable handles; OPTIHAND “Basic”, on the other hand, is a sturdy grab handle made of wood.

The use of OPTIHAND tools in equestrian disciplines such as: For safety reasons, we advise against jumping training, cross-country riding and young or difficult horses. The product should only be used on calm, experienced horses in a safe environment and a positive learning atmosphere. Appropriate care is required. In order to avoid unintentional opening of the fastening straps, the strap ends protruding from the adjustment slider must be at least 2 cm long and the straps must be passed through the slider twice. Store the product in a dry place.
