bi-medEctoin® easy breathe – Inhalation concentrate for healthy equine airways
bi-medEctoin® easy breathe is a sterile inhalation concentrate designed to care for, moisturize, and cleanse the airways of horses. Once nebulized, Ectoin—a natural stress-protection molecule—forms a water-based protective layer on the mucous membranes, shielding them from pollen, dust, allergens, and other external irritants. Stubborn mucus loosens more easily, allowing the airways to recover more effectively.
How Ectoin works
Ectoin is a naturally derived molecule that has been the subject of extensive clinical research. It works through a purely physical mechanism—it is not metabolized, has no known side effects, and does not lead to habituation. bi-medEctoin® easy breathe contains a 13% concentration of Ectoin in water.

Application & Dosage
Dilute with saline solution (0.9% NaCl) before use and administer as an aerosol using an equine nebulizer. Do not use as a carrier fluid for medications.
Isotonic mixing ratio – for regular & long-term use:
1 ampoule (5 ml) + 25–45 ml NaCl (0.9%);
use daily for approx. 4 weeks during the initial acclimatization phase; reduce to 2–3 times weekly as symptoms subside.
Hypertonic mixing ratio – for intensive airway cleansing:
2 ampoules (10 ml) + 20–40 ml NaCl (0.9%);
use as a short-term course over 2–3 weeks; then switch to the isotonic mixing ratio. → Detailed dosage recommendations for common nebulizers in the FAQ
